High quality care
Patients with rheumatic disorders have to cope with changes in
daily life as well as their ailment. For that reason, the rheumatology
centre of the Sint Maartenskliniek offers high-quality care that not
only treats the rheumatic ailment but also teaches patients to cope
with the consequences in the home, at work and for life in general.
Team of experts
The care offered by the rheumatology centre is geared to the
patient’s personal circumstances and the phase of the ailment. A
team of experts is formed. Together, these experts take charge of the
treatment. The team may consist of a rheumatologist, specialised
nurses, a physiotherapist, an occupational therapist, a psychologist, a
social worker and an orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in rheumatic
surgery.
The staff of the Sint Maartenskliniek’s laboratory and
pharmacy also make a substantial contribution to the treatment of
patients with rheumatic disorders. In order to ensure the continuity of
care, even outside the rheumatology centre, the therapists of the Sint
Maartenskliniek collaborate with care partners in the patient’s
environment, such as the family doctor.
