Evaluation of the STAR ankle prostheses

The research aims to determine the short, medium and long-term results of the Scandinavian Total Ankle Replacement (STAR) total ankle prosthesis.

In this prospective study, we follow 134 patients who received a STAR ankle prosthesis in the Sint Maartenskliniek between 1999 and 2008. These patients are followed until 15 years after their ankle operation. With the data, we were and will be able to investigate survival of the prosthesis, clinical and functional outcomes and patient satisfaction. The short and mid-term results have already been published, these papers can be found on Pubmed. We are currently collecting the long-term results.
