The Knee Panel

With this project, we want to gain (more) insight into explanatory mechanisms of pain and fatigue in knee osteoarthritis and prolonged knee pain and monitor the utilization and perceived quality of care. This to identify potential treatment and self-management targets for people with knee osteoarthritis and prolonged knee pain.

During the project, a dynamic panel (the "Knee Panel") consisting of people who are clinically diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis and people who experience prolonged knee pain is developed. The panel will be deployed in multiple research studies to answer clinical, translational and/or pathogenetic questions about pain and fatigue. We will use several data collection methods to obtain data, such as questionnaires, interviews, collection of human tissue (e.g. saliva, blood), MRI-scans and pain pressure measurements.

The project runs from 2018 to 2023.
