Uric acid lowering therapy
With this project we want to examine the beliefs of physicians on uric acid lowering therapy in secondary and primary care. Secondary, we want to study the influence of their beliefs on their prescribing behaviour. Furthermore, we will examine whether the beliefs of the physician influences patients beliefs.
Both physicians and patients are asked to complete their specific beliefs about medication questionnaire. This will be done online and on paper.
Besides, the researcher will collect information on medication use, latest blood levels and amount of gout flares patients have experienced the past year.
The collection of information will finish in the end of 2020.
We hope to publish the results in 2021.
