RE:HOME exoskeleton

Many children with a neurological disorder like cerebral palsy, have difficulties with walking. Therefore, a lot of rehabilitation therapy is needed. One of the goals of the RE:HOME project is to develop a new exoskeleton that helps these children to train walking.

The RE:HOME project is an European corporation between technical, industrial and clinical partners from France, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. Together we work on the development, evaluation and integration of an exoskeleton to improve the rehabilitation of walking. An exoskeleton is a wearable robot which can assist during walking, or even do the walking for you while you wear it. The REHOME project is financially supported by the European Union (Interreg North-West Europe) and started in 2024 for a period of 4 years.

The Sint Maartenskliniek will contribute to the project by evaluating the usability and safety of the newly developed exoskeleton for assisted walking.
