Efficacy of walking adaptability training

The objective of this study was to assess the efficacy of walking adaptability training versus conventional locomotor training on improving walking capacity in people with spinal cord injury.

Walking adaptability training

The walking adaptability training was performed on the GRAIL. During the training, multiple tasks were performed, including obstacle avoidance and/or reacting to perturbations.

Conventional locomotor training

The conventional locomotor training consisted of treadmill training and lower body strength training.

The study was performed in collaboration with UMC Groningen and completed in November 2022. In total, 41 people with spinal cord injury participated in the study. We'll be publishing the study results shortly.
