TETRA study

In this study, we look at what the best treatment target is for patients with rheumatoid arthritis. In people with rheumatoid arthritis it is important to regularly measure the disease activity to prevent damage to the joints. To do this, the rheumatologist sets a treatment target. With the TETRA study we want to determine which measurement method and which treatment target is the most effective way to treat patients with rheumatoid arthritis.

There are many ways to determine the disease activity of the rheumatoid arthritis. In this study, we want to compare two of the most used measurement methods, the DAS28 and the SDAI, to determine which method is most effective.

In this study, patients will be randomly drawn in one of two groups. In the first group, patients will be treated using the DAS28; in the other group, patients will be treated using the SDAI.

Taking part in the study will take 18 months in total. During this period, participants are asked to come to the hospital every three months.
