Virtual Reality for Rehabilitation

VR4REHAB aims at enabling the co-creation of Virtual Reality (VR)-based rehabilitation tools. By identifying and combining SMEs, active in the field of VR, research institutes and clinics that specialize in interventions in the human musculoskeletal system.

The project organized five hackathons (one per participation country) to gather the expertise of entrepreneurs, patients, rehabilitation personnel and technical specialists. From each hackathon a long list of ideas concerning rehabilitation with VR emerged. The Game Jams delivered a short list of the most favourable and feasible ideas. From the short list, 5-6 ideas are realized as a pilot and accompanied with strategic recommendations for implementation and marketability.

The project has started in January 2018 and will end in September 2021.
