The burden of fatigue in rheumatic diseases

Fatigue is a major burden for many people with rheumatic diseases limiting their daily life activities. Coping with fatigue is challenging, especially due to the fluctuating and unpredictable nature of fatigue. With this study we want to map the course of fatigue and its factors that influence fatigue severity at the level of the individual.

Using daily measurements, we will map the dynamic nature of fatigue. People with knee osteoarthritis and systemic sclerosis indicate daily, at fixed time points during the day, how fatigued they feel by means of an smartphone app. Other questions are also queried, for example about exercise behaviour, pain and mood.
